This 16-person touring bike tour will prove to be unforgettable! There is no better way to experience the extraordinary sights and sounds of Cuba than by bike. This Havana-Matazas-Varadero tour, on which you’ll be accompanied by an expert guide who specializes in biking and cyclotourism, a bus and a medical team , to ensure an adventure of a lifetime.

On Day 1 you will arrive at José Martí airport, and be whisked to the Presidente or Riviera Hotel, depending on your preference. There you will meet with your guide, explore the area and the hotel’s pool, enjoy a buffet dinner, and relax. You’ll need to be well rested for the next day’s adventure!
After an international buffet breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to tune up and start cycling! You’ll set off through beautiful Havana, first cycling through the picturesque neighbourhood of Miramar on 1st or 3rd Avenue and continuing down 25th Avenue, then passing through the medical district, before stopping for a break in the oasis of the Almendares Park. Then start again, taking Zapata Avenue to Revolution Square, where you’ll be able to take extraordinary pictures of this historical place. You’ll continue up Independence Avenue to pass more of Havana’s incredible sites, including more universities and other institutions. Then you’ll come to “La Rampa”, one of Havana’s most vibrant streets, where you’ll bike all the way up to the sea wall. There, you’ll have the option to either continue cycling, or have a bus pick you up with your bike, to go on to the Old Town of the Habana Vieja Municipality. Here you’ll need to dismount your bike to fully appreciate the colours and edifices of the incredible historical buildings. You’ll walk through Arms Square, Cathedral Square, Saint Francis of Assisi Square, the Old Square, and past the historical La Bodeguita del Medio restaurant – all jewels in the heart of Old Havana. Enjoy lunch at El Floridita restaurant, then hop on a bus to Matanzas, and rest for the next day’s exploration at the lovely Velazco hotel.
After breakfast at the Velazco hotel, tour through the paradise that is the Yumuri Valley, stopping for a boxed lunch among the lush natural beauty. The afternoon will find you on the north coast of Matanzas Bay, cycling past turquoise waters. Take a quick tour of the beaches of quaint Matanzas City and visit the stunning Bellamar Caverns. Return to the hotel by bicycle, enjoy dinner and a night of Cuban music.
After another lovely breakfast at the Velazco it’s time to head to the Canimar River, where you’ll and enjoy a motorboat ride down the river, and then jump back on your bicycle to set out for Saturn’s Cave, another stunning cavern where you can swim in the pools of water under and above those incredible rock formations. After enjoying lunch on site, board the bus headed for Varadero and then to check in to either the Barlovento or Cuatro Palmas Hotels. There you’ll be able to enjoy the pool and beaches, finish the evening with dinner and a show, and get a good night’s sleep.
After breakfast you’ll leave the hotel and cycle south to the end of the dreamlike Hicacos Peninsula- imagine white sand and turquoise water as far as the eye can see. You’ll stop at the Dolphins Aquarium and the local Marina, as well as the architecturally significant DuPont House also known as “Xanadu´s Mansion”. You’ll have the option to stop at El Quijote restaurant for pictures, and then before taking 1st Avenue along the peninsular to the tranquil Josone’s Park, followed by a visit to the foundational Church of Varadero and to the monument of the Literacy Campaign in the city. Then you’ll return to Barlovento hotel to relax and enjoy the pools, beaches, and everything else this lavish hotel has to offer.
After a lovely hotel buffet breakfast, check out and take the bus for the trip to Havana’s international airport. All good things must come to an end- but your memories will last a lifetime!
