Explore the varied natural landscape and rich history of this province as you transit Cardenas, Carlos Rojas, and other picturesque destinations on your way to Trinidad, Cuba.
Trinidad is one of the best-preserved sites from the days of Cuba’s sugar-boom. Its narrow cobblestone streets will make you feel like you’re back in the 18th century. A visit to the impeccably preserved Palacio Cantero Museum will only further the feeling.
Once home to a wealthy sugar-mill owner, Palacio Cantero retains its original grandeur and many of the fine artworks and now-antique furnishings that made it a hub of high society. You’ll get a taste of the time with traditional Cuban canchánchara, then enjoy some free time to explore.
El Nicho is Cuba’s natural waterpark. This series of waterfalls and natural pools provides the perfect place to swim, float, or just dip your toes in the water. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch and plenty of time to bathe, relax, and explore the surrounding trails.

The day starts early. Our four-wheel-drive jeep will pick you up at your hotel to begin this scenic natural and historical tour at 6:30 a.m. The itinerary is packed, but you’ll have plenty of time to rest and relax between and at our destinations.

What was it like to be a mill owner at the height of the sugar trade? You’ll find out at the Palacio Cantero Museum, a fully preserved 18th-century home in Trinidad, Cuba.
Trinidad itself is one of the best-preserved towns from the sugar-trade era, with narrow cobbled streets and period architecture.
From Trinidad, you’ll head into the Escambray Mountains, through Cumanayagua and Cruces, to El Nicho, Cuba’s natural waterpark.
Follow the Path of the Butterflies to the Poceta of Desires. Bath in natural pools fed by a series of waterfalls and set among the tree-lined Escambray Mountains. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch and then have time to swim and relax in this beautiful natural setting.
Return to Varadero via the A1 motorway, including a brief stop at Jaguey Grande.
