We’ll start the day with a hearty breakfast and then set out for the Bay of Cadiz to see its picturesque lighthouse, built in 1862. Then we’ll continue on to Cayo Hicacal, a true island paradise! Complete with breath-taking rocky cliffs, shaggy palm trees that sway lazily in the late afternoon breeze, pristine white-sand beaches, and coral reefs – you’ll never want to leave! Explore and then relax on the sunny beaches, letting the sound of the birds and the lapping of the waves wash over you. After lunch on board we’ll find a quiet area of the cay to relax and enjoy dinner as the sun sets over the ocean.
After breakfast on board we’ll navigate to Cayo Santa Maria, passing through Ensenachos, another unique island renowned for its beauty. The pristine beaches and warm water here will leave you wondering why anyone would live anywhere else. Following lunch on board we will continue to a beautiful coral reef called “Los Diablitos”, where we will practice snorkeling and appreciate the marine flora and fauna. At the end of the afternoon we’ll dock in Cayo Santa Maria and the village of La Estrella, where you’ll have your choice of restaurants, a piano bar, a disco, and even a bowling alley!
This day will take us to Cayo Fragoso and Cayo Francés, where we’ll enjoy even more fine white sand beaches and stunning views. The view in this place is particularly interesting as the horizon is punctuated by the shipwrecked San Pasqual, which has been moored in front of Cayo Francés since 1933. It was built in 1920 by a shipping company in San Diego, California, who made 3 copies of this type of vessel, of which the San Pasqual is the only survivor. The ship boasts a rich history: Hemingway visited it, and the famous artist Leopoldo Romañach was inspired and painted some of his most beautiful seascapes from its deck. Following our trip to these islands we will start sailing back, heading west through La Isabela, a small coastal town in the North of Villa Clara, and continuing to Cayo Esquivel, a place ideal for fishing with an abundance of species such as the Snapper, Snapper Creole, Bucket and Mona, among others. The day will finish in the Bay of Cadiz with dinner and a relaxing night.
After breakfast we’ll head to Cayo Blanco for some snorkeling and water sports. A mid-day lunch on board will be followed by a sunset docking at the port of Cayo Blanco to take a dip in the warm waters, then walk through the key, followed by a game of volleyball and refreshing coconut water. The evening will conclude with dinner in a restaurant at the key or along the beach before turning in for the night at the dock in Cayo Blanco.
This day starts with a visit to the dolphin aquarium in Rancho Cangrejo, where you’ll be able to swim with these intelligent creatures, watch them flip and spin, and even get a fishy kiss! After that experience of a lifetime, you’ll return to Marina. On your way back to the Havana airport, one of our top-rated guides will take you on a tour of the city to Old Havana, including lunch at El Floridita Bar-Restaurant, a walking tour to the Old Plaza, the Plaza de la Catedral, the Plaza de Armas, and the Plaza San Francisco of Assisi, plus a visit to the Ambos Mundos Hotel and the Bodeguita del Medio restaurant. Those cultural experiences will conclude this utterly amazing trip of the most stunning islands Cuba has to offer.
