Depart at 8:00 AM Our four-wheel drive safari jeep will pick you up from the hotel, after which you will experience an exciting speedboat ride throughout the Rio Canimar, or Canimar River State Park.
This gorgeous river surrounded by lush green cliffs is home to various flora and fauna as well as fun activities such as horseback riding, fishing, swimming, and boating.
Dive into the Punta de Maya, a protected area full of beautiful spreads of coral reef. Solo or guided snorkeling are available in this appropriately named Coral Beach, which is also home to several varieties of native fish. Cueva de Saturno, or Saturn Cave, is truly a natural wonder gleaming with sparkling crystal-clear blue water.
This location is perfect for either casual swimming or diving and snorkeling, and you’ll find yourself mesmerized by the views below the water’s glass-like surface. These waters are the ideal temperature for a leisurely dip, and the adventure-seeker will find many wonders below as well.
Discover amazing stalactites and stalagmites beneath you, as well as marine life such as angelfish, lobsters, shrimp, and moray.
Experience true fun and leisure at La Dionisia Farm, a breathtaking paradise of nature and quiet away from the city sights and sounds. Discover the rich and fascinating history of this ranch, which was once an old coffee plantation, founded in 1820, and immerse yourself in the colonial setting that once was.
Find yourself travelling back in time and surrounding yourself in the rich myths, rituals, and day to day lives of the African slaves who worked the plantation. You’ll also discover fun in the way of horse and bull riding, allowing you to truly take in the atmosphere of the farm.
Once you’ve traversed the property on horseback, find yourself relaxing as your adventure wraps up, letting the beautiful scenery take over.
At Rancho de La Dionisia you’ll indulge in an authentic, delectable Creole lunch. With a spread of delicious meats, rice dishes, and fresh vegetables topped off with two soft drinks (and perhaps a taste of amazing Cuban coffee), you won’t leave hungry or unsatisfied.
Delve deeper into history by discovering the fascinating and haunting ruins of Cuba’s oldest but well-restored coffee plantation, Cafetal Buenavista.
French refugees from Haiti built the plantation in 1801, where 126 slaves were housed in the quarters by the French-Cuban owners.
Among these historical ruins are the master’s house, and the massive grindstone, used to extract coffee beans. Such a piece of Cuba’s history will be remembered for years to come.
After finishing your unforgettable safari tour, you’ll wrap up the day by heading back to the hotel, having gained not only new sights and sounds but an appreciation and knowledge of some of Cuba’s rich history.
